Kyle Oba (he/him) is a programmer, passionate about building useful mobile and web applications that help people live better lives. He follows a human-centered approach with motivated teams who value user research as much as the software craft.
He currently works at Fathom Information Design, where he is a senior developer working on complex data tools, such as Operation Outbreak, Lookout, and Rowboat. He gave a talk about Operation Outbreak at Elixir Conf EU.
Previously, at Pas de Chocolat, he created design interventions, such as the Monster Homes image generator for the Artists of Hawaiʻi Now exhibition at the Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA), and the CLASSIFIED Tour for the Doris Duke Theatre at HoMA; and data tools for clients such as the State of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Gas and the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation.
He has given talks at various conferences, including Elixir Conf EU, JSConfHI, ElixirConf (a lightning talk), and PyNow!.
He is also an underwater photography enthusiast.
