Started working on the TProofRemotePlayer to allow the Process() method
to set to "process" status some new workers while already processing.
This is to pave the way for the dynamic workers addition.
The GoMoreParallel() function, unlike the GoParallel() function, is
capable of activating new workers while an analysis is progressing.
This is currently a WIP.
AddDynamicPath() and AddIncludePath() functions accepted a list of
workers: the Broadcast() was correctly sent to the subset, but the
Collect() was performed on all active workers. This is not OK when
adding workers dynamically since we want to stop the packets events
until the new workers are initialized, and a broad Collect() resumes
packets processing.
UploadPackage() and EnablePackage() now take a list of workers as
argument. Useful for dynamic workers, to avoid reuploading and
recompiling everything on the existing workers.
Primarily for debug purposes: when a GetNextPacket() is triggered by a
worker unknown to the packetizer, does not make a fatal assertion any
more, but prints a warning message to the master's console.
This is done to avoid flooding client's console.
Timestamp check to avoid contiuously polling for new workers before
each call to TMonitor::Select().
This is a changement in a virtual interface. Each packetizer should
then implement the AddWorkers() method appropriately.

 Ho integrato il codice localmente e stavo provando stressProof. In 

dynamic startup sembra
funzionare bene (a parte alcuni test, che però danno spesso qualche
problemino in modo dinamico
e che dovrò debuggare), ma il caso standard no: TProof::Open blocca
quando i workers sono su
e non ridà mai il prompt.
Forse manca un patch? Puoi darci un'occhiata?

Problem was introduced in 00393a4. This is a quick fix that restores
previous state. A more complete solution is to be found.

Latest two commits should address the issue and restore functionality in non-dynamic workers mode. The stressProof test passes correctly.

The compiled code is unloaded by iterating the AST out of which the compiled code
came. The problem is that C++ supports static initialization. For example:
int a = 5; on the global scope means set the value of a to 5 before the program
starts. To support that clang implicitly generates functions that enforce the
expected initialization order. That can become easily very complex. Let's see
a more "real-life" example:

So when iterating the AST and trying to remove f(), we cannot because it is still
referenced by __cxx_global_var_init1. However we know this is not an issue,
because that __cxx_global_var_init1 was meant to be executed only once and that
already happened. So in first approximation we could drop the references of f
in __cxx_global_var_init1 and remove the rest.

This fixes a race condition in which a TTreeReader and its
TTreeReaderValues could be deleted concurrently:
Thread #1) a task ends and pushes back processing slot
Thread #2) a task starts and overwrites thread-local TTreeReaderValues
Thread #1) first task deletes TTreeReader

In the example below, thread #11 is waiting on the ‘AppKit lock’ while thread #1 is waiting on the ROOT read lock and thread root-project#12 is waiting on the ROOT write lock.

In thread #11, the ROOT write lock is taken/held by frame #9, TCanvas::Update, to ‘serialize’ the update to the windowing system.

In thread #1, the ‘AppKit lock’ is likely taken/held by a frame in the root-project#16 to root-project#40 range.

This commit remove the dead lock by removing the unnecessary use of code needing the ROOT lock within code run under the AppKit lock so that in they case thread #1 no longer need to wait for the ROOT (read) lock.

In addition it should be investigated whether the ROOT (write) lock should be taken in thread #1, frame 1 (TMacOSXSystem::ProcessPendingEvents) for the same reason it is taken in TCanvas::Update.

This fixes https://sft.its.cern.ch/jira/browse/ROOT-9672 by having
cling::Interpreter::DeclareCFunction return the transaction containing the
compiled code.

With the previous code, cling::Interpreter::compileFunction will get confused by
transaction created during the callbacks executed during the
cling::IncrementalParser::commitTransaction of the main transaction.

Reproducer:

With a main composed of 'only':

Error in <TClingCallFunc::ExecT>: Called with no wrapper, not implemented!
Error in <TVirtualStreamerInfo::Factory>: The plugin handler for TVirtualStreamerInfo was found but failed to create the factory object!

The reason is that during TClingCallFunc::make_wrapper, the call to cling::Interpreter::compileFunction ends with:

However in the 'broken' case, the getLastTransaction does not return the transaction for the code being compiled by DeclareCFunction but instead the one used/created at:

in a nutshell, the condition was:
- Thread #1) a task ends and pushes back processing slot
- Thread #2) a task starts and overwrites thread-local TTreeReaderValues
- Thread #1) first task deletes TTreeReader
