I am trying to apply for GitHub Education as a faculty member, but it says I'm not on campus.

I am trying to apply for GitHub Education as a faculty member, sitting in my office, on my work laptop, but it's telling me I am not on campus and need to provide proof why I'm not on campus. I don't know what to submit since I'm on campus, I'm not on a VPN and I'm sharing location with the site.

Hi @TQuinlivan ,

I think it is a browser issue. Use Chrome for a better experience and enable location. I faced an issue (not the same as you have) when I was trying to do it via a brave browser.

I tried in Chrome on Mac OS, and then I tried in Safari, and it wouldn't work on either.

I can suggest having a look at the FAQ on how to enable location on your browser.

•  You appear to not be near any campus location for the school you have selected. 

If this doesn't help, I would suggest a different browser - Edge seems to be quite successful when Chrome does not. But I do suggest you look at your OS systems just in case.

I have tried in both Safari and Chrome, and ensured my location is being shared with GitHub for both. I don't have a VPN and I don't have any blocks at the OS level either. I don't have a Windows machine to try on, only my Macbook. I genuinely don't know what to do here because there doesn't seem to be anyone I can actually speak to about this, I just have to keep applying and getting automatically declined.

Ahh ok. Sometimes a school's campus may be required to be updated if you have performed all the check stated above. So for example the school you are applying for says it's in another State 👀 Does your school have multiple campuses? If so I would recommend you raising a support ticket to update the school details.

• My selected school states I must have a specific school-issued email address but it’s incorrect, what should I do?

I would recommend you update your existing ticket to state you wish to update your school details if you have evidence that your campus is where you are located
