limactl start either with qemu or vz backends leads to a kernel panic. also described here: docker/for-mac#7597 now also part of known issues in the release notes of the beta: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-15_4-release-notes#Virtual-Machines it's not a bug in lima, just putting it here so other users don't have to search so hard. maybe some security people want to look into this, kernel panic triggered from user mode should be interesting.
