Fleet is working on #24097 which allows admins to scope team policies to labels. In looking at the Figma mockups for this feature, I was the logic for labels was limited to “include all” and “exclude all.”
This is a feature that would be very useful for customer-deebradel but they would need “include any” logic for the labels to make any use of it.
What have you tried?
In looking at the Figma designs for this upcoming feature, I saw ‘include_any’ logic was not included.
Potential solutions
Fleet should have ‘include any’ logic to policies scoped by labels.
What is the expected workflow as a result of your proposal?
customer-deebradel wants to use Fleet’s automation engines to handle the installation of apps and running of scripts. Currently, for things like custom settings, they map a Fleet label to a bundle in their app. This allows them to use ‘include_any’ logic to scope certain settings to the correct devices. If policies scoped by label included the same logic, they would be able to do the same with automated software installs instead of needing to orchestrate it all themselves.
