Icecast2 v2.4.4-8 breaks on RS1219+ (Avoton) #6439
Comments
The intention of the recent update was to update to openss 3 Since the previous release, it also got an update of taglib. This error seems to be raltated to libxml2 error 38 means "function is not implemented" RS1219+ is also x64 (avoton) it might be an issue with this type cpu (since you also sucessfully run it on DS220). @th0ma7 did we ever face such an issue with ffmpeg? @SedonD I have not a clue how to fix this. Guess you need to downgrade to the the previous version. |
@th0ma7 in #6329 you updated libxml2 and marked icecast as broken Found another post related to this error here: |
Thanks for the prompt reply. With this github report, I just wanted to let you know about it and let others see it in case they come across it on RS1219+. It's a spare Icecast2 on NAS and I've already downgraded to 2.4.4-7 and it works well again, - the main server is an Ubuntu server. |
@SedonD I have created icecast2 with libxml2 downgraded to the release of the former libxml2 library (almost the same version as before 2.9.14 vs 2.9.12) You find it at https://github.com/hgy59/spksrc/releases/tag/icecast_test |
@hgy59 I have installed it and it works fine with this package...
|
@SedonD thanks for testing, If this works too, I will create antoher release where libxml2 v2.12.9 is built with cmake (before I reverted to plain gcc build). |
You're welcome, let me know if you need more test. |
The following packages are provided under https://github.com/hgy59/spksrc/releases/tag/icecast_test
|
yeah, as you thought, - with libxml2_2.13.5 does not run, crashes immediately the other packages are fine |
no that doesn't ring any bell from an ffmpeg perspective. Although I did read a bit about getrandom (indirectly related to getentropy) from the kernel & libc side of things as there was new development recently on that. Theory (just throwing this out) - it could well be that the getentropy function from a conjunction of kernel / libc is not supported on said platform? ref. article on getrandom : https://lwn.net/Articles/808575/ |
- libxml2 13.x is broken for dedicated x64 cpus (SynoCommunity#6439) - revert to official download url - remove optimization (cflags) (ignored by cmake)
* downgrade libxml2 to v2.12.9 - libxml2 13.x is broken for dedicated x64 cpus (#6439) - revert to official download url - remove optimization (cflags) (ignored by cmake) * adjust cross/libxslt - revert to official download url - disable debug information
@SedonD can you do a final validation with the package created by github build action in #6443 ? |
@hgy59 I am travelling on business (flying) with limited access to the NAS in question |
Is this a new Bug?
Package Name
Icecast2
Package Version
v2.4.4-8
Device Model
RS1219+
Device Architecture
x86_64
Firmware Version
7.2.2-72806 Update 2
What happened?
Icecast2 stopped immediately after upg. installation, repair does not work, reinstallation does not work.
(Icecast2 running for many years, not a recent installation)
We have a secondary backup NAS DS220+, - on this was problem free, - we installed it just for the test.
