When I close the GUI of ZynAddSubFX in LMMS it resets for some reason to a default sine wave

OS - Debian 12
LMMS Ver - 1.2.2

Edit1 - This problem isnt present in some lmms projects i download off the internet, like https://gitlab.com/metalx1000/My-Music/-/blob/master/2025/UMA%20Bot%20Song%2003.mmpz?ref_type=heads

I can't reproduce.

I tested on stable-1.2.2 and nightly and both skip a second when closing the UI but the sound never goes back to the default sine wave.

Edit: I was testing on Windows. I tested nightly on Ubuntu 24.04 and the issue doesn't occur there either. I didn't test 1.2.2 on Linux, but I recall this working.

Are you using a build from our website or from Debian?

Ok, please test with stable-1.2.2 AppImage from our downloads page. If the issue doesn't exist there, this may be a packaging issue on Debian's side.

In regards to how to fix this issue, I'm not sure. I remember an old bug with ~/banks subfolder, but that bug still existed when I tested yet the issue you describe did not. I also dug a bit into the LMMS WORKING DIR/.zynaddsubfxXML.cfg but didn't see anything that stood out. Since we're a small volunteer team, we do rely on users helping to track down issues so if you find something that we can improve, we'd be happy to patch it.

Note that most of our efforts are currently towards the 1.3.0 release. https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/milestone/4
