Invalid SSL certificate

When dataverse tries to connect to https://mds.test.datacite.org the following exception is thrown:

Caused by: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Checking the certificate seems to be valid:

Also no SSL issues when using curl on the same machine.
